Storms and high tides hitting W and N/W coasts of France.

Quatre départements de l’ouest de la France placés en vigilance orange pour vents et vagues-submersion.

Four departments in west of France have been put on Orange alert for high waves causing flooding.

Les vents devraient être particulièrement violents vendredi, samedi et dimanche. The windspeeds will be particularly violent from Friday to Sunday. (They are already hitting S and E coasts of Ireland.)

Météo France a placé les Côtes-d’Armor, le Morbihan, la Manche et le Finistère en vigilance orange en raison des risques de “vent violent” et “vagues et submersion”, jeudi 2 février à partir de 19 heures. Plusieurs tempêtes sont attendues, à partir de jeudi et jusqu’au week-end, dans le nord-ouest de la France.

The Côtes-d’Armor, le Morbihan, la Manche et le Finistère are on orange alert with risk of “violent winds” and “high tidal waves and flloding”, from today Thursday 2 February at 19h00. Many storms are forcast up to the weekend in the NW of France.

Prudence sur le littoral. L’alerte orange dans le Finistère concerne de “très fortes vagues” attendues sur la côte en raison des vents violents. Elle court de 19 heures jeudi à 11 heures vendredi.

Extra care required on the coasts. The orange alert for Finistere relates to “very strong waves” driven by violent winds. They’ll strike unaware from 19h00 Thursday to 11h00 on Friday.

Des vents violents attendus. Météo France annonce des vents violents, qui pourront atteindre 120 à 130 km/h près du littoral, dans les Côtes-d’Armor, le Morbihan, la Manche et le Finistère.

Violent winds expected. Meteo France expect violent wind speeds reaching  120 to 130 km/hr  close to beaches and coasts mentioned above.

Une trajectoire incertaine. Au total, trois tempêtes sont attendues sur l’ouest de la France, mais leur trajectoire n’est pas encore connue avec précision. Elles devraient particulièrement toucher la Bretagne et les Pays-de-la-Loire, mais aussi la Normandie et jusqu’aux Hauts-de-France, voire la Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Uncertain passage of storms. In total, three storms are expected on the west of France, but their exact passage is not yet known. It should hit Brittany, Pays de la Loire hard but also don’t rule out Normandy and other regions as far as Hauts-de-France and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

It's next staging was in the one act circuit is in Cavan, at Maudebawn on Sat 10 Nov 2012. Then it was performed in the Bray, Co.Wicklow at the very popular one act festival in January 2013. Next play is FEAR. A dark tale about revenge on the cruel death of two pensioners by young thugs. Neighbours hatch a devious and dangerous plan to exact old-style revenge. Bill is a member of the Drama League of Ireland and his plays have been critically vetted and certified as original pieces of work by the DLI. Another literary project is that of commemoration of an aircraft crash on Djouce mountain in Wicklow in 1946. Bill wrote articles for the 50th, 60th and most recently the 70th anniversary, (12 Aug 2016) all were published in the Wicklow Times and ensured the survivors of the crash, all French Girl Guides, were not forgotten. Articles reproduced on this website. But mostly this site gives a more general European and specific French slant on popular and not so popular articles of French news, translated to English by the author. Each article is translated on a paragraph by paragraph basis so easy to read in either language and even possible to improve either language by comparison of the short English and French paragraphs. Amusez vous bien. The author is currently writing an easy to read technical aviation book centered around the Fokker 50. Another interest is that dealt with in another of Bill's websites www.realnamara.net, a Statue of the mother of God, Mary. It was erected in 1972 in Dublin, at the end of the Bull Wall near Clontarf, and my grandfather William Nelson, was the main instigator of that project.
