Les derniers mineurs isolés ont quitté la “jungle” de Calais
Près de 1 500 mineurs étaient regroupés et hébergés dans un centre d’accueil provisoire (CAP) depuis le 24 octobre dernier. Almost 1,500 minors were collected and re-housed in a provisional housing centre since 24 October.

Ils sont partis en car. Les derniers mineurs isolés ont quitté la “jungle” de Calais (Pas-de-Calais), annonce la préfecture du département, mercredi 2 novembre. Depuis le 24 octobre, 1 500 mineurs isolés étaient regroupés et hébergés dans un centre d’accueil provisoire (CAP).
They went by bus. The last unaccompanied minors left the Calais “jungle”, the chief of police of the Pas de Calais department announced today. Since the 24 October 1,500 unaccompanied minors were rounded up and re-housed in a temporary centre.
Quelque 30 bus avaient été réservés pour ces départs à destination de 60 centres d’accueil et d’orientation dédiés aux mineurs en France, selon la préfecture du Pas-de-Calais. Elle précise que les mineurs ne choisissent pas leur destination mais décident avec qui ils veulent voyager et s’installer.
Some 30 busses were reserved for departure to 60 centres dedicated for the minors in France, according to the chief. He specified that minors did not select their destinations but had agreed to travel and be re-housed.
Venue superviser les départs dans la matinée, la préfète du Pas-de-Calais Fabienne Buccio s’était félicitée que l’opération “se passe bien dans le calme”. Le premier véhicule, avec 43 mineurs à bord, avait quitté peu avant 8h30 l’enceinte du CAP pour Carcassonne et Bolquère (Pyrénées-Orientales) rapidement suivi par d’autres, se rendant notamment à Sainte-Marie-la-Mer (Pyrénées-Orientales) et dans l’Allier.
Coming to supervise the departure the chief Fabienne Buccio acclaimed the operation and said “it went well and calmly”. The first vehicle, with 43 minors on board left just before 08h30 for Carcassone and Bolquère (Pyrénées-Orientales) followed quickly by others, heading in the main for Sainte-Marie-la-Mer (Pyrénées-Orientales, Region 66 Eastern Pyrenees).) and in the Allier (Region 3 Central France).
Other regions include Beziers and Carcassone, Region 11 (Aude); Meurthe-et-Moselle, region 54, (Lorraine, NE France); Savoie, region 73 Eastern France, (Rhone Alps); Charente-Maritime, Western France, region 17, (Poitou-Charante).
The mayors of some regions are claiming the emigrants are not staying where they have been located but are leaving, still with the intention of getting to England. These poor people are obviously very badly informed! A good solution would be to plant the north of Ireland with emigrants from Africa, plenty of them. We could just sit back and watch the polemic unfold.
